FINALLY AN UPDATE
I'm really glad you wrote this in Jun's POV, because it'd be a complete bias if it were Nino. I mean that in the way of Nino's not being able to be objective about those days at the hospital. It also ties in with the audience. Since it's from Jun, someone who was an outsider to Masato's illness (somewhat), his learning of the diagnosis was just as abrupt as the readers' and it was like we got to experience it in the passenger seat, so to speak.
I'm also very impressed at your explanation of Niji. Stating that it was a song written to remember the good times gives its origin so it isn't just a strategically placed solo; it has precedence and your showing how he'd never smiled while playing it before let's us know how much Ohno means to him now c:
Can I just comment again on how gorgeously adorable your Ohno is? His vain attempt at sounding calm and nonchalant were a total waste of time, if not for the fluttering of my heart (you're eating this shit up, aren't you?). I giggled when I read how they bonded (EVEN THE TINIEST BIT) over fishing. And I so wanna see Nino cook for Ohno, if it ever progresses that far, just so I can compare how different these characters are from those in OoL.
